& so it hangs frail like autumn leaves
she drips sorrow holding
violet felt cosmos in her eyes
carries herself so stiff
& some wonder why she is so quiet
(for that is her strongest sound)

The one that walks with purpose,
Her strides confident and her head held high,
Her eyes empty and cold
Like she owns the world.
Did you know that same girl
Goes home to an empty room
With empty promises and crushed dreams?
Did you know that girl
Just put on a front,
To show her collarbone
As well as her backbone
Just for everyone else?
She may not be the nicest,
She may push you away,
But talk to her.
Get to know her.
Her cold eyes reflect
More than you can guess.
She has more guts than you,
To lie to herself every day.
As alienated as she might seem,
She wants nothing and expects nothing,
